In what was probably a must-win situation for Angel City, they delivered in spectacular fashion, beating Seattle Reign at home 3-1.

Ally Sentnor got the party started, scoring her second consecutive PK in the 20th. Ary Borges, only days back from giving birth to her first daughter, doubled it in the 40th and showed that she still hates that corner flag.

But the highlight had to be Taylor Suarez subbing on, then scoring 21 seconds later– a new league record.

Sofia Huerta denied Angelina Anderson a clean sheet with a score from outside the box in the 92nd, but it only denied ACFC the best goal differential in the league.

Despite the win, there’s no change to the standings: Seattle still sits in the last playoff spot, albeit only 1 point ahead of L.A.

And it doesn’t get easier any time soon– with six games remaining, they face the number 1, 2, and 3 teams in the next three games.

Angel City plays again this Sunday, facing #3 Utah Royals on the road.
