FIS ALPINE WORLD CUP

December 28: Semmering, Austria 

– Lara Colturi (ALB) -3rd- Teenage sensation Colturi continued to impress as she secured third place in Sunday’s slalom in Semmering. The Albanian was second after the first run and remained in contention for victory throughout her second, finishing narrowly behind winner Mikaela Shiffrin and second-placed Camille Rast.

– The 19-year-old said: “That’s amazing to finish the year with a podium, and now I’ll do the next few races with the same mindset.I’m getting close each race, I’m feeling really good in training. I’m really fast with a good mindset and power.”

December 27: Livigno, Italy

– Franjo von Allmen (SUI) -3rd– Swiss star Von Allmen excelled on a short, technical Super G course as he claimed third place. The 24-year-old delivered a controlled run to finish behind Austrian Marco Schwarz and Switzerland’s Alexis Monney. 

– He said: “I’m really happy because I have two zeros in a row in Super G, so I’m in the finish with a good result. It’s not really a difficult course, but difficult to be fast. Every drift and every small, careful curve is slow.”

December 22: Alta Badia, Italy

Clément Noël (FRA) -2nd- and Loïc Meillard (SUI) -3rd- Frenchman Noël came out strong in the last race before Christmas to take the first-run lead by 0.09s from Atle Lie McGrath with Swiss slalom specialist Meillard third, however had to settle for second after the Norwegian came back in the second run to triumph.

– Noël, 28, said: “I am happy with my race. When you are in first place after the first run you want to win, but that’s still a good race. My skiing is good and I feel that it will be even better in January.”
