The inaugural OCEANMAN CUBA festival came to a spectacular close on Sunday, cementing its place as a new cornerstone event on the global open water swimming calendar. Against the stunning backdrop of Cayo Santa Maria’s pristine waters, the final day of competition saw over 200 swimmers from more than 35 different nationalities take on the challenging 10km OCEANMAN and 5km HALF OCEANMAN distances, marking an unforgettable celebration of the sport.
The OCEANMAN 10km race delivered a masterclass in endurance, with French superstar Axel Reymond claiming a commanding victory. He was joined on the podium byVenezuela’s Johndry Segovia, who secured a impressive second place, and Spain’s Julio Galofre, who rounded out the top three with a strong performance.

The HALF OCEANMAN 5km race was dominated by a formidable Italian trio, showcasing incredible depth and talent. Andrea Filadelli took the top spot on the podium, followed closely by Davide Marchello in second and Ivan Giovannoni in third.
The event, which began with the innovative Elite race on Saturday, concluded a weekend where world-class athletes and amateur enthusiasts swam together, united by a shared passion for open water swimming. The unique combination of elite competition and mass participation events, including the SPRINT and OCEANTEAMS races, created an electric atmosphere of camaraderie and sportsmanship.

The event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of countless volunteers, local authorities, safety personnel, and sponsors, all of whom contributed to ensuring a safe, seamless, and spectacular experience for every participant.
OCEANMAN CUBA has set a new standard for open water events in the Caribbean and has announced its intention to return, with plans already underway for an even bigger 2025 edition.
