The Chargers scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to take a 10 point lead on the Dolphins. Miami would respond. First with a 70 yard drive capped off with a De’von Achane rushing touchdown. After a Chargers four-and-out, Miami would score again after Tua Tagovailoa found a wide open Darren Waller in the end zone to take a one point lead. 

With 30 seconds on the clock, Justin Herbert, breaking off a sack, found Ladd McConkey who made a man miss for a 42 yard gain, setting up Cameron Dicker for the game winning field goal. 

Dicker was the Chargers leading scorer, accounting for 17 points including field goals and PATs. He remains perfect on the year, making all 14 of his attempts. Dolphins Kicker Riley Patterson missed his first field goal of the season on a 57 yard attempt. He would go on to make his next two field goals from 47 and 27 yards out. 

Filling in for Omarion Hampton, Chargers second year Running Back Kimani Vidal rushed for 124 yards and also caught a receiving touchdown, his career high by almost 100 yards. The Dolphins had a solid run game as well from De’Von Achane. He rushed for 128 yards and 2 interceptions. 

Herbert finished the day with 264 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tagovailoa threw for 205 yards and 1 touchdown, along with 3 interceptions. 

Chargers receiver Ladd McConkey had his first 100 yard game of the season. Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle caught 6 passes for 95 yards.
