Seattle soundly beat the L.A. Galaxy, 2-0 at Dignity Health. They got on the board in the 7th minute when Novak Micovic couldn’t reel in a shot, and Pedro de la Vega put it into the back of the net in the ensuing chaos. Osaze De Rosario doubled it in the 57th, keeping the home team on their heels.

The Galaxy got a chance in the 83rd when Nouhou Tolo was ejected after a hard foul on Gabriel Pec that sounded like he exploded Pec’s shin guard. But the Sounder defense held, and L.A. failed to even get off even a single shot on target to close the game.

In the other semi-final game of the tournament, Inter Miami came back from one down to beat Orlando City 3-1. Marco Pasalic scored in first-half stoppage to give Orlando the lead heading into the lockers. But Lionel Messi, back on the pitch after a hamstring injury, scored in the 77th then converted a penalty in the 88th. Telasco Segovia added a third in stoppage to guarantee the win.

Seattle will host Inter Miami at Lumen Field this Sunday, while the Galaxy will take on Orlando at home. The top three finishers are guaranteed a spot in next year’s CONCACAF Champions Cup.
