The world’s top players, including 15 major winners, have arrived at Dundonald Links for the 2025 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open. Among them are defending Champion Lauren Coughlin, 2025 KPMG PGA Champion Minjee Lee, and Lottie Woad the former World No.1 amateur who recently turned professional after finishing third at the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship, who spoke to the media today.

Lauren Coughlin, who won last year’s edition by four shots, after a stunning back nine that included three birdies and saw her single putt her last seven greens, on being back in Scotland for her title defense…
“It’s really cool to be back here. First time defending. So yeah, it’s exciting, a lot of memories here for sure. Really good ones. But very happy to be back in Scotland. Excited to be back and ready to get going for the week.”
On what’s changed since winning back-to-back LPGA titles and shooting up the world rankings…
“I’m at lot more busy than I thought I was going to be off-course. I’ve kind of started to say no to some things, and more just to kind of get some mental rest and stuff and enjoy being home when I’m home and not have to do a bunch of things, even when they are fun and stuff. Could take energy away from what I’m really trying to do, which is play really good golf as best as I can.”
Minjee Lee, making her ninth appearance at the Scottish Open explained…
“I think I like it when we do get the opportunities to play links golf. I really enjoy this type of golf I guess. I just like the cool weather. Sometimes the elements do get the better of us, but I just like doing two weeks in England or the UK.
On what exactly she enjoys about links golf…
“I think just the creativity. Sometimes we’re hit with a ton of wind, rain, the conditions are much harder usually, like the surface. So, I think just being able to like picture it in your mind and executing it just gives me a lot of joy when I can do it.”
21-year-old Lottie Woad on playing her first professional tournament this week…
“I’m very excited. I’ve thinking about making my professional debut for a long time. So am excited to do it on home soil as well. It’s going to be really fun.
On being paired with Nelly Korda and Charley Hull in the first two rounds…
“It’s going to be fun couple of days. Obviously two players that I look up to. Growing up, I watched a lot of the English pros. So being paired with Charley tomorrow is going to be really cool.”
