35th AIDA Freediving World Championship 2025 – Day 3 Highlights
Women open the Constant Weight Bi-Fins (CWTB) discipline with new records and powerful dives
The third day of the 35th AIDA Freediving World Championship began with ideal weather conditions in the Eastern Mediterranean, setting the stage for the women’s competition in the Constant Weight with Bi-Fins (CWTB) discipline.
Fifty-two female athletes from 35 countries took part in today’s event, with a strong mix of experienced champions and talented newcomers. Several national and continental records were broken, showcasing not only elite-level performances but also the rapid global expansion of the sport.

About Constant Weight Bi-Fins (CWTB)
Constant Weight with Bi-Fins (CWTB) is one of freediving’s core depth disciplines. In this category, athletes descend and ascend using bi-fins — one fin per foot — without assistance from ropes or propulsion devices. While bi-fins provide greater control and stability compared to a monofin, they also require more effort, demanding precise technique, physical power, and energy efficiency.
The current women’s world record in CWTB is held by Alenka Artnik (Slovenia), who reached 111 meters in 2023.
